TakenLee › Terms of Use
Last updated: 9 October 2026
These are the terms on which you use TakenLee. Using the app means accepting them. The document is deliberately short, and written to be understood rather than to be long.

The app connects to an OBD-II adapter you plug into your car's diagnostic socket, reads trouble codes and engine values from it, stores trip summaries, estimates mileage and reminds you about servicing and your roadworthiness test. It shows public vehicle information by licence plate, alerts you to safety recalls, and lets you share the car with a garage you link to and with other drivers.
The vehicle is your responsibility. Whether to drive, continue driving or stop is your decision alone, and you must make it on what you see and hear in the car — not on a screen.
The app does say things that sound like instructions. Where a code or a reading indicates risk — engine temperature, oil pressure, brakes, steering — it will tell you not to keep driving and to stop somewhere safe. Those are warnings, not clearance. The reverse does not follow: the absence of a warning does not mean the car is safe. Do not keep driving a car that feels wrong merely because the app is silent.
Do not operate the app while driving. The acceleration measurement is for use on a clear, legal road only, at your own risk, and subject to traffic law.
Public-registry data. The licence-plate check shows the Ministry of Transport's open datasets as they are, unedited. Each dataset is refreshed on the Ministry's own schedule, so it can lag behind reality. "Odometer at last test" is the reading recorded at the test centre, not the current mileage; "owners" are counted from registered ownership transfers, and a transfer through a dealer is not counted; "list price when new" is the importer's list price for the model year, not market value. The data says nothing about accidents, liens, seizures or fines. We do not verify it and are not responsible for errors or omissions in the registries.
The deep inspection reads what the car's computer is willing to report at that moment. It does not inspect bodywork, chassis, brakes, suspension or accident history, and is no substitute for a licensed inspection centre. The decision to buy a car, and at what price, is the buyer's alone.
Recalls are shown as importers report them to the Ministry. Before relying on a recall having been done or not, confirm with the importer.
Lee generates its answers with a language model. That means:
What is and is not sent to the model is set out in section 5 of the privacy policy.
The app is free. The deep pre-purchase inspection is unlocked by a one-time purchase through Google Play or the App Store, at the price shown in the store before you confirm. The purchase is tied to the store account you bought with, covers any number of cars, and can be restored on a new device with "Restore purchases" in the app. Billing, receipts and refunds are handled by the store under its own policy; we do not receive your payment details. If further paid features are added later, these terms will be updated and shown to you before any charge.
When you link a garage, its staff see your details and your vehicle data as described in the privacy policy. You can unlink at any time. Garage accounts are for business use, and the garage is responsible for what it does with its customers' data and for its own compliance with the law.
An appointment request made through the app is a request only. The appointment exists once the garage confirms it and proposes a time, and it is an arrangement between you and the garage — TakenLee is not a party to it and is not responsible for the garage's availability, prices or work.
We do not promise uninterrupted availability. The service may change, be suspended, or stop. We will give advance notice of a planned shutdown of the whole service where we can.
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss or loss of profit, nor for loss arising from reliance on a reading, a warning, a public-registry record, or an answer from Lee — including an unnecessary repair, a repair not carried out, a car purchase, or a decision to drive or not to drive. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for personal injury caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
You may delete your account at any time — Settings → Delete account, or via the account deletion page. We may suspend an account that harms the service or other users, and will say so; where there is immediate risk, notice follows the suspension.
These terms are governed by Israeli law. The competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo have exclusive jurisdiction.
We update the date at the top. A material change is shown in the app before it takes effect.
