Most problems here are with the adapter connection, and most of those have one of three causes. If none of this helps — y28112000@gmail.com, and we will reply within a few business days.

First of all: the adapter has to be in the diagnostic socket, and the ignition or the engine has to be on. The socket is usually under the steering wheel on the left. With the engine fully off, most cars do not answer at all.

The adapter does not appear in the scan

On iPhone, only Bluetooth LE adapters are supported. Bluetooth Classic adapters — the cheap ones that appear in your phone's settings as a device to pair — are not supported on iPhone at all. That is an Apple restriction and the app cannot work around it. If that is the adapter you have, it will work on Android and not on iPhone.

On Android, both kinds work. A Classic adapter must be paired in Settings → Bluetooth first, before the app can see it. The pairing code is usually 1234 or 0000.

Also check that Bluetooth is on and that you granted the Bluetooth permission. On Android 11 and below the operating system additionally requires a location permission before any app may scan — it is used only to find the adapter, and we read no position through it.

Connected, but some readings are missing

That is almost always the car, not the app. OBD-II defines dozens of queries and each manufacturer chooses which to support. If your car does not report fuel level or voltage, the app leaves the tile out entirely rather than showing a dash — a dash looks like a failed sensor, while a missing tile more honestly says "this car does not report that".

Trips are not reaching the server

Trips and trouble codes are stored on the phone and sent when there is a connection. When items are waiting, a chip appears at the top of the screen with the count — tap it to try sending immediately. A network or server failure does not discard anything: the item stays queued and is retried, and even a long disconnection does not lose what has accumulated. An item is dropped only if the server refuses it permanently, so that it cannot block the queue forever.

Notifications are not arriving

Notifications are sent from the server when a new fault appears, when a service or test falls due, when a recall is opened for your car, and when a health measurement starts to drift. Check that the notification permission was granted and that the app is not restricted by battery optimisation — on Android that is the commonest cause.

Inside the app, Settings → Which notifications to receive lets you switch categories (faults, servicing, test and insurance, vehicle health) off individually. Reminders are sent in daytime only, between 8:00 and 21:00; anything that happens at night waits for the morning. Every notification sent is also kept in the notification centre (the bell at the top of the screen), even if you missed it.

The garage link is not working

A garage code is six characters. Its alphabet was chosen so the characters cannot be confused: it contains no digit 0 or 1, and no letter O or I. If you think you see one of those, it is one of the others. The code comes from the garage itself; if it is rejected, ask them to confirm it is still active.

I asked for an appointment and the garage has not answered

An appointment request reaches the garage as a notification and as a row in its feed, and the garage confirms or declines it from the app. Until it confirms, the request shows as "pending" on your side. If a business day has passed, call — the garage's phone number is on the "My garage" screen, and you can cancel the request there too.

Licence-plate check — car not found, or a value looks wrong

The check queries the Ministry of Transport's open datasets as they are. A car registered in the last few days, a military vehicle, or a car taken off the road may not appear, and each dataset refreshes at its own pace — "odometer at last test" is the reading from the test, not the current mileage. If a registry is not answering right now, the app says so rather than showing stale data; try again later. The data holds nothing about owners, accidents, liens or fines, and there is no way to add it.

I paid for the pre-purchase inspection and it is locked on my new phone

The purchase belongs to the Google Play or Apple account you bought with, not to the phone. On the new device, sign in to the same store account and tap "Restore purchases" on the inspection screen. If that does not help, write to us with the purchase date — we cannot see your payment details, but we can help with the store. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy.

I shared a car with another driver and they cannot see it

The other driver must be registered with TakenLee under the same phone number you typed. If the number is not found, the app says so when you add it. After a successful add, the car appears in their vehicle list as "shared from …" — if not, have them close and reopen the app. Only the owner can remove a share.

Lee is unavailable, or you are out of questions

There is a daily question allowance, and it resets at midnight Israel time. The number remaining is shown on the chat screen. "Lee is unavailable" means a temporary fault on our side — try again later.

Lee can be wrong. Do not rely on it for a safety decision; when in doubt, stop and call a garage.
